10th Series – Land Quad with One Flyer and Three Retired

Test Dogs: Test Dogs came to the line this morning at 10:23 am, beginning with "Gretta," and then "Steel." The competitors got a good look at this Land Quad and what they may expect for this series!

Start: The 10th Series officially kicked off with the first running dog #10 PLEASANT RIVER KING EIDER, “King,” BLM, with handler Hunter Street at 10:52 am.

Conditions: The weather this morning was cold with clear skies, temps remained in the 20's throughout the test and the wind was coming out of the west at 6-10 mph.

Finish: Our last running dog for Test 10, was dog #1 FC-AFC MIDWAY’S AVENTADOR, “Jenny,” BLF,  with handler Tim Milligan. They came to the line at 12:58 pm and the test was concluded at 1:06 pm. 

14 dogs were sent from the line this morning for this test. The series took approximately 2 hours and 14 minutes in total, with the average running time to be about 9.5 minutes per dog.

SR – Over the gap and then on to her bird!

LR – Nice diagonal line through the field – almost to the far right power lines when she turned left toward the fall area – missed it and goes left of the fall area and then back in for her bird.

RR – Nice line to the corner of the far timbers – she is in and then comes back out to retrieve her bird.

F –  Out to the area under the arc – turned left and then out to his bird.

SR – Skimmed the left edge of the blind – over the gap and he got it!

RR – Out to the edge of the corn on a good line – turned right – came into the corn – got level with the bird and turned left to the fall area and his bird!

LR – Came across the field into the woods by the flyer guns – went right away from the bird – but he came back left and worked it out to the bird.

SR – Over the gap and he turned to snatch his bird right up!

LR – Down the alleyway below the power lines – Ti swings over to the retired guns but is quickly back to the area of the fall to recover his bird.

RR – Angling across the field towards the open area – he moves on towards the bird – takes a left towards the alleyway and has to be handled to this bird.

LR – Swinging wide right as she drove under the power lines, she began to head back into the area and located her bird.

RR – Angled line took her to the opening along the right side of the field – a pass there and she was into the far timber – in short order she was out of the timber and onto her bird!

F – Maddox had a nice line to the area and located his bird.

SR – Over the gap and stepped on his bird!

LR – Into the field field with his line taking him up the back side of the flyer guns and driving – he went beyond the LR guns and quickly came back down and right to work out his bird.

RR – His line took him along diagonal to the closest corner of timber. He hunted the area and eventually expanded his hunt to the far corner of the trees where he worked to recover his bird.
