3rd Series – Land and Water Triple

93 Dogs Started this Series

Test Dogs: Test Dogs started out the day Sunday bright and early at 6:25 am, beginning with "Steel," and then "Gretta," giving the competitors a look at what this series would have in store for them. On Monday a single test dog "Gretta" was run to show handlers the new conditions for the test on the second day.

Start: The Series officially kicked off with the first running dog #75 FC Crew's Splintered Timber, "Timber," BLM with handler Jerry Patopea at 7:55 am on Sunday! (Fun Fact: Jerry Patopea was the first handler up Saturday too for the 1st and 2nd series test – But he was starting with dog #50 that time)

Conditions: The weather on both days very crisp and frosty in the morning, with temps in the 20’s. Temps reached into the low 40’s later on Sunday, but it remained a mostly cloudy day all day, with a slight breeze at 4 mph and snow still on the ground. Monday it was a clear sky and Sunny with most of the snow melted away from the ground.

93 dogs were sent from the line Sunday and Monday in this series, taking approximately 12 hours and 51 minutes in total, with the average running time to be about 5 minutes per dog.
